Spring Flowers Daisy

Several free family-friendly Easter and Spring time community celebrations will be held throughout the San Fernando Valley this Saturday, April 15, in parks and community centers.

The City of San Fernando is holding it’s Spring Jamboree from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be prizes, games, arts and crafts, face painting and a   community drum circle under the direction of Christopher Ramirez offered by the Ford Theaters Foundation. The popular musical Jamboree is free and will be held at Las Palmas Park, 505 S. Huntington St., in the City of San Fernando.  

In Granada Hills, there will be a Spring Egg Hunt at the Granada Hills Recreation Center, 16730 Chatsworth St., featuring crafts, games and moon bounce from 10 a.m. to noon. Egg hunts for ages 0-2 start at noon; ages 3-5 at 12:10 p.m.; ages 6-8 at 12:20 p.m.; and ages 9-12 at 12:30 p.m.

Spring Egg Hunt will be held at the Northridge Recreation Center, 18300 Lemarsh St., with arts and crafts, games and an eggs hunt from noon to 3 p.m.

A Spring Egg Hunt will be held at the Panorama Recreation Center, 8600 Hazeltine Ave., from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, cupcake decorating, games and an egg hunt.

In Sylmar, an Easter celebration will be held at the Sylmar Recreation Center, 13109 Borden Ave., with an egg hunt, arts and crafts, games, and a moonbounce from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In Arleta, a spring celebration will be held at the Branford Recreation Center , 13306 Branford St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It includes an egg hunt, games, moonbounce and Spring Bunny visit.

The Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Recreation Center, 14201 Huston St., in Sherman Oaks, will hold contests, arts and crafts, cookie decorating, egg dyeing, egg hunts and games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A Spring Egg Hunt will be held at the Victory Vineland Recreation Center, 11117 Victory Blvd., in North Hollywood, with arts and crafts and egg hunts for ages 1-12, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

An Easter Egg Hunt with the LAPD Van Nuys Community Police Station and the Teen Community Advisory Board will hold crafts, face painting, games and egg hunt, noon-2 p.m. in the Courtyard of the Van Nuys Civic Center, 6262 Van Nuys Blvd. 

The Sun Valley Recreation Center, 8133 Vineland Ave., will hold a spring Eggstravaganza with Egg hunt and games, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Winnetka Recreation Center, 8401 Winnetka Ave., has arts and crafts, game booths and an egg hunt from 9 a.m. to noon.,

A Springfest will be held at the Shadow Ranch Recreation Center,  22633 Vanowen St. in West Hills, with a car and motorcycle show, family activities, food trucks and marketplace from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Egg hunts for ages 1-3 at 11 a.m.; ages 4-6 at 11:30 a.m.; ages 7-9 at noon; ages 10-12 at 12:30 p.m.; and ages 3-6 at 1 p.m..

In Sunland-Tujunga, the  Chamber of Commerce will host a large Spring Carnival in Sunland Park, 8651 Foothill Blvd., that includes carnival rides, vendors, arts  and crafts, contests, and games. The carnival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, April 16. Egg hunts will be held both days at 11:30 a.m., noon, 12:30 and 1 p.m.
