San Fernando Police Searching for Man with Mental Illness

The San Fernando Police Department (SFPD) is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing adult male with a mental illness.

Martin Arevalo, 37, has been missing since Sept. 30. He was reported missing to police by his brother on Oct. 4. Arevalo is described as 5-10, 220-pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.

Arevalo has a mental diagnosis of schizophrenia, is not taking his prescribed medication, and has not reportedly left his residence without sharing his whereabouts with his family in the past. He has a cellphone but it has been off when checked and attempts to locate him at local medical and mental health facilities, as well as through other resources have rendered no results.

The police investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who has seen Arevalo or has any information that would help to locate him is asked to call the San Fernando Police Department at (818) 898-1267.
