|Overcoming Procrastination To Achieve 2014 Resolutions|

It's that time of the year, the fresh start, you know the one that you have been waiting for to get it right "this time"! Drum roll please...Time for the latest episode of: 'These are your New Year's Resolutions and they look hauntingly familiar because they are--you didn't keep them last year either!'. Point taken yet? If you are reading this, then you are probably like many others who are positive, optimistic and "meaning well" intention setters who really carved in stone (or blasted the heck out of the stone) what they were going to do differently for the new year 2014. Why is it so ridiculously difficult to keep your resolutions even when you think that you have everything set in place? Well, basically two things get in the way; procrastination and intention. Procrastination, the act of deliberately avoiding something, or looking for a distraction to get out of anything that seems unpleasant. Procrastination renders people from achieving their goals, dreams and living to higher standards.
The subsequent problem is procrastination becomes habitual (habit forming) and eventually even addictive to where it becomes a lifestyle. Did you know you can literally procrastinate about procrastinating? Intentions, are the plans or goals of achieving something you have your mind set on. Everyone has goals and "intentions" no matter how small or how large they are.
The problems with most intentions people set and create for themselves is they generate them from a weakened position of negativity-- they focus on what they do not want rather than what they want to accomplish. They create a frequency of negativity which attracts same ole, same ole, which means, no Auld Lang Syne, rather "ole anxiety"! Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different set of results. Gee, a genius like him, do you think he was onto something when it comes to resolutions? Some individuals are habituated or addicted to procrastination as this is a "lifestyle" for them. They procrastinate to avoid anything unpleasant, hurtful or that might result in failure. The eventual problem when operating from a mindset of procrastination is that your mind reverts back to its old ways based on the past.
Therefore, to overcome the problem of procrastinating and setting good intentions, is you have to cure your mind of what is ailing it--negativity based on irrational past perceptions! The best way to keep and attain resolutions is to resolve and overcome the underlying problem that keeps getting in the way- -procrastination. Did you know that when you continually procrastinate, you also set negatively charged intentions (your resolutions) that are destined to fail? Intentions are created based on what you are telling yourself. Start focussing on what it is that you want to see appear in your life. State what you want, believe you can achieve it, feel the outcome of having it, and know you deserve it. When you apply this positive approach for setting your intentions, you will instantly feel energized in a different way because you are triggering something new in your unconscious mind.
If you want to quit smoking, then see yourself in that capacity as, "You are smoke-free!". You've liberated yourself from smoking, i.e., "free" which equals freedom! When meditating on your intentions, take them one step further and ask yourself the positive questions such as, "Why am I smoke free?", "Why do I love so much being free of smoking?", etc. When you think like this, your unconscious mind is probably saying to itself, "Finally, a new positive thought process! What the heck took so long? Please, continue sending more uplifting memos!" The greatest battle most people will ever engage in is between their ears--their minds.
You choose the thoughts you have, feel the feelings they produce and carry out the actions you want to see most. When you think this way, this make you master/mistress of your mind. With that said, there is no time like the present to get started! The only thing holding you back is you. Pull back those arms of yours and thrust yourself forward to new and greater levels of achievement this new year!
