The American Red Cross has established a hotline to help victims and families affected by the recent accident in Orland, CA.

People seeking aid can call (800) 540-2000 from anywhere in the state to learn of the various services provided by the organization, said Terry Corigliano, Chief Communications Officer of the Red Cross.

“Those persons who call will be directed to a counselor in the Red Cross chapter nearest them, or they can come into the main office in Los Angeles. We will work with them at their convenience,” Corigliano said.

Available services include mental health support, grief counseling, assistance with transportation or travel costs, or any significant expenses related to the accident.

“Each case is different,” Corigliano said, “so from the conversations will develop the understanding of whatever documentation they need to bring. And documentation will be required for some of the services offered.”

The hotline is available indefinitely, Corigliano said.

Corigliano added the hotline is not for those who would like to donate money for the victims and their families. Those wishing to donate can do so by calling (800) RED CROSS (800- 733-27677) or visiting
