LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Los Angeles city councilmember started a fund for five local students killed in a collision between a tour bus and FedEx big rig near Orland, Calif.

The students were among 10 people killed on April 10, as students and their chaperones made their way toward Humboldt State University for a college orientation program.

Councilmember Joe Buscaino asked members of the public to donate to the Humboldt Bus Crash Victims Fund, which was set up with the nonprofit Sharefest to raise money to cover medical care and burial costs.
