Nadya Suleman Loses Home PDF Print E-mail

LA HABRA (CNS) - No one bid on the La Habra home where Nadya "Octomom'' Suleman is raising 14 children, and the former owner said he was glad to sever his deal with her, because she is a year behind in rent, and a bank took possession of the property.

The opening bid was $355,643 for the four-bedroom home at 2051 Madonna Lane, according to Meridian Foreclosure Services, which handled the auction for One West Bank. Amer Haddadin told City News Service he was pleased that Suleman would have to move.

"I'm very glad the way it's done,'' he said. "I want to see her out of the house, because she doesn't deserve it.''

Suleman was supposed to pay Haddadin $3,300 monthly in a rent-to-own deal, but she fell behind. "I'm not getting anything out of it,'' Haddadin said. "The bank will be taking the house. What I got from all this mess was bad credit. She just screwed up my credit.''

Suleman has been struggling to provide for her brood since giving birth to octuplets in January 2009. The single mother already had six children.

"That's her life. I wish her good luck, but what she did to me was unjustifiable,'' Haddadin said. "What she did to me is a big disappintment to me. I helped them and this is what I get. This is crazy.''

Haddadin was asked to sign off on a short sale in March, but he declined. Instead, Haddadin wanted the deed to the house back and said he would be willing to let Suleman stay on as a renter.

A message left with Suleman's representative, Gina Rodriguez, was not immediately returned.
