PACOIMA (CNS) - Homicide detectives were sent to the San Fernando Gardens housing project in Pacoima Monday to investigate the death of a woman found nude on a sidewalk next to a communal trash bin, police said. An initial call from an anonymous tipster about 2:30 a.m. indicated the woman was having breathing problems in the 13100 block of Carl Street. When paramedics arrived, she was dead. The woman was described as being in her 20s. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Division. "Foothill Homicide unit is treating this case as a homicide until other evidence develops,'' an LAPD statement says. The coroner's official had not released the woman's name as of late afternoon.
