Fifty-four students from the San Fernando Institute for Applied Media at San Fernando Middle School were the latest group to complete the Hippocrates Circle program sponsored by Kaiser Permante in Panorama City. The program, in its eighth year, is designed to help local students in their pursuit of a medical degree. At the June 2 program, students met with a diverse group of physicians from Kaiser Permanente physicians and hear first-hand the challenges for achieving success given their cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and a bilingual presentation on the application process for loans, grants, and scholarships.
