Sun Honored At Los Angeles Press Club Awards – San Fernando Valley Sun/El Sol sportswriter Mike Terry won a L.A. Press Club award Sunday for his story "The Baddest Cats In The City," his re-telling of San Fernando High winning the 2011 Los Angeles City Section baseball championship. This story spoke of how the Tigers' win helped lift the spirits of the school – which had been placed on athletic probation by the City Section for using an ineligible player on the football and wrestling teams – and also the community, which had not seen a baseball title in San Fernando since 1991. Congratulating Terry is Press Club board member and Los Angeles Weekly Weekly Deputy Editor Jill Stewart.
