The Dons (5-3, 4-0) are the last league team with a chance to the Mustangs¡¯ annual stampede to the East Valley title. But Verdugo Hills won¡¯t get the chance to sneak up on Arleta (7-1, 4-0), after Sylmar upset the Mustangs last week. That loss didn¡¯t totally devastate the Mustangs¡¯ push for positioning for the City Section Division I play-offs; Arleta is currently fourth. But if the Mustangs don¡¯t win the league, any hopes for a first round home game proba-bly ride off into the sunset. Verdugo Hills, on the other hand, would get a boost in the Division II standings. The Dons are currently 10th; win-ning the league should move the Dons into the top eight, which gets them a first round home game. And in a season where Division II is looking very competitive, any edge is a welcome one. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Verdugo Hills High.
